The first submarine to sink a ship finally saw the sun again. The H.L. Hunley was a Confederate sub that sunk the Union blockade ship Housatonic. The crew of nine did not survive the effort, their remains and their temporary tomb lay off the South Carolina seacost for 136 years. Click on H.L.
